Kimberly Lee (born September 28, 1986), now 29 years old, is a Canadian semi-professional basketball player for the Calgary Storm of the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL). She took a sabbatical from her career as an IT consultant in oil and gas to pursue her dream of playing in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), which generated a growing following known as “Lee3sanity”, female comparable to “Linsanity”.

Lee grew up in Toronto and was recognized as one of the most lethal shooters in high school by her grade 12 year. Prioritizing academics over anything else, she turned down multiple offers to play NCAA and attended the University of Waterloo for their prestigious Bachelor of Mathematics program. During her four seasons of playing for the Warriors, she began on the all-rookie team and ended her career there finishing on the all-star team and becoming her team’s most valuable player. Following graduation, Lee was a pioneer for the Toronto Stealth women’s semi-professional basketball team in the 2009 season. She decided to play her final year of eligibility with Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), helping win a championship in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and winning several awards including:

Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Basketball Player of the Year
    CCAA All-Canadian
    CCAA All-Tournament Team
ACAC Overall Player of the Year
ACAC Basketball Player of the Year
    ACAC Basketball All-Conference
    SAIT Trojans Basketball MVP

Following this, Lee began her professional career in oil and gas and spent several years as an IT consultant. At 29 years old, she decided to finally pursue her lifelong dream of playing professionally and being the first Chinese Canadian to play in the WNBA.
