@psylee123 lol hell no. This forum is open source software. I had to get another guy to set it up. Phoenix Framework looks interesting though. That one looks worth learning. It’s built for scaling and reliability from the start so bigger projects remain maintainable and relatively easy to modify quickly.
Why: To find other Asians who are tired of being oppressed. I would like to eventually dismantle the current narratives about the Korean peninsula being propagated by western imperialist media, and spread truthful information about the American Empire to Koreans outside of America, and provide an online community for woke Korean Americans.
Background: IT, economics, math, systems science
Interests: sustainability, decolonization, social justice, history, art, judo, Asian languages, diversity/inclusion/empowerment, building solidarity among Koreans, Asians, and POC, and more.
A week ago, a fellow AM decided to join my new department as they felt like they weren’t appreciated by their past department in another institution (YT is a director, surprise surprise). Without hesitation, I gave him the position even though we had 10+ applications that were already reviewed. Ended up nearly doubling his past pay and put him in a position of leadership.
I bring up this example as someone in Reddit posted about how helping each other/being self sustainable results in sacrifice.
To that I say bullshit.
We have more than enough agency and power to keep our brothers and sister prosperous as given the example above, and trust me, this isn’t an isolated incident. Helping one another out results in increased financial and social gain.
I encourage all of you to actively help one another out. Peers must support peers and mentors must establish a stronghold for their mentees.
Nepotism fights nepostism and we have a lot of catching up to do.
@AttilatheHun We can speed up the process. It should not take decades. Fortunately, China has centralized controls for certain areas - media is definitely one of them. That can make the changes happen much faster.
@psylee123 I looked through some of them and it looked like they were legit WFs or WMs. They had a facebook page with hundreds of actual friends and family (with real pictures, not empty photos or cartoon pics or whatever) as well as photos of themselves and their families. Pretty sure at least some of them are real. But then again, that shouldn’t come as a huge shocker seeing how often whites like to gaslight anyways…
That is very interesting. I agree with you about whites having to wear our shoes and experience all the disadvantages Asians have in the US. It would be cool to see an Asian version of “Black Like Me.”
Yes, you have valid points, but remember, elected officials also are nerdy socially awkward people with Asian wives. Look at Mitch Mconnell. Look at the Senator from Virginia, I forgot his name but he has staunch anti-China rhetoric, and he’s married to a Vietnamese woman. I’m pretty sure he has the save Asian women from Asian men mentality.
